Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
A small yet potent area of low pressure will produce another day of wet weather in eastern China on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall is expected along the coast near Shanghai and Hangzhou during the morning hours as low pressure exits into the East China Sea. During this transition, wrap-around moisture associated with this system will continue to fuel shower activity in eastern China through the afternoon. Meanwhile, the system will also bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms to Kyushu as well as more moderate rainfall to Shikoku and southern Honshu. Precipitation is expected to become more widespread as the day progresses spanning through much of southern and central Japan by late evening.
High pressure will keep much of the Korean Peninsula under fair and dry conditions. Moisture and energy from the aforementioned system may produce a few light showers throughout areas near the Sea of Japan coast.
Seoul and Tokyo will see temperatures in the mid-60s(F)/upper 10s(C), while Shanghai will rise into the upper 60s(F)/lower 20s(C).
Elsewhere, stormy weather is expected in the western Pacific Ocean due to Tropical Storm Twentyfive. The system is expected to weaken into a tropical depression as it curves northeastward through the ocean. While the storm will not make landfall with any landmass on Tuesday, it will continue to produce plenty of rainfall and thunderstorms during it's progression through the open waters.
For Australia, dry and warm weather is expected across much of the eastern half of the nation as high pressure exits the Great Australian Bight and treks toward Tasmania. A few light scattered showers may develop along the Queensland shoreline through the day. Additional pockets of showers are expected in Western Australia due to lingering low pressure.
Sydney will see temperatures in the lower 80s(F)/upper 20s(C), while Brisbane will rise into the upper 70s(F)/mid-20s(C).
