this includes the city of Riverton...
* until 1215 am MDT
* at 846 PM MDT... local law enforcement officials reported flash
flooding from a thunderstorm over the warned area. Officials
reported that water had entered some homes and businesses on the
south and north sides of the city of Riverton. Although little
additional rainfall is expected this evening... low lying areas in
and around the city may remain flooded for several more hours.
Flooding was reported in portions of Riverton over the past one
and one half hours... including street flooding on East Monroe
Avenue... Minter Lane and at the intersection of north federal
Boulevard and Pershing drive.
* Locations in the warning include but are not limited to state Hwy
134 mile marker 20... state Hwy 134 mile marker 10... U.S. Hwy 26
mile marker 120... Ocean Lake... Hidden Valley and Kinnear
Additional rainfall amounts of less than one tenth of an inch are
possible in the warned area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded

* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow afternoon and
continue to rise to near 10.5 feet by early Tuesday morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday evening.
* Impact... at 10.9 feet... record stage..
* impact... at 10.8 feet... continous monitoring/repair of levees is
necessary. Occupied Mobile homes northeast of Gas Hills Road
Junction are still dry. Highway 789 is still open..
* impact... at 10.0 feet... abondoned Mobile homes are under 2-3 ft of
water. Mobile homes to the east are still protected by dirt and
sandbag levees. Hwy 789 is usually sand leveed by wydot on the
north side of the river. The Highway remains open..

Highway 789 may break through the temporary levees. Abandoned moble
homes will begin to flood. Other temporary levees protecting
several Mobile homes to the east are monitored. Minor flooding
