01/06/2009 0500 PM Oxford, Calhoun County. Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by NWS storm survey. A few dozen large trees were uprooted or were snapped off. The damage area was approximately 1.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide. One Mobile home was destroyed when a tree fel on it. One apartment complex susatined when a tree fell on it. At least 2 dozen structures sustained varying degrees of mainly rrof damage. Maximum winds were estimated at 85 mph... but most locations only received winds around 50 mph. 01/07/2009 0200 PM Oxford, Calhoun County. Non-thunderstorm wind damage, reported by Emergency Mngr. A few trees were knocked down near Oxford. Wind gusts were estimated between 30 and 40 mph. 01/07/2009 0200 PM 8 miles NNW of Anniston, Calhoun County. Non-thunderstorm wind damage, reported by Emergency Mngr. A few trees were knocked down near Alexandria. Wind gusts were estimated between 30 and 40 mph. 01/07/2009 0400 PM Jacksonville, Calhoun County. Non-thunderstorm wind damage, reported by Emergency Mngr.
