Synopsis
Surface high pressure ofer the Carolina coast and iday moving north through the Yucatan Channel will combine to create an increasing tighter pressure gradient over the area. The result for the area will be a strong easterly flow over the area...which will become even stronger as Ida approaches...then moves east over the far offshore waters of Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle. With an approaching system mid week...Ida will weaken...becoming extra- tropical as she moves towards the Mid Florida Panhandle. Please refer to latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center and the local office on Ida.

East winds 25 to 30 knots increasing to 30 to 35 knots early in the morning. Seas 7 to 10 feet. Chance of showers.
Monday
East winds 30 to 40 knots. Gusts up to 50 knots. Seas 9 to 12 feet building to 14 to 19 feet. Rain and isolated thunderstorms.
Monday Night
East winds 35 to 45 knots with gusts to around 55 knots increasing to 40 to 50 knots with gusts to around 65 knots. Seas 15 to 20 feet. Rain likely and isolated thunderstorms.
Tuesday
East winds 45 to 55 knots becoming north in the afternoon. Gusts up to 65 knots. Seas subsiding to 11 to 15 feet. Chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms.
Tuesday Night
North winds 40 to 50 knots with gusts to around 65 knots decreasing to 30 to 40 knots with gusts to around 50 knots. Seas decreasing to 10 to 13 feet. Slight chance of rain.
