Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters

High pressure across the northern Gulf and low pressure across the Rio Grande will persist through the next several days. This will lead to weak to occasionally moderate onshore flow. Increasing low-level moisture over the weekend and a weak disturbance approaching northern Mexico should be enough to produce isolated showers and thunderstorms Saturday through Sunday. Upper level high pressure will build back into Texas capping the atmosphere and precluding any significant precipitation.

Today South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay waters smooth increasing to slightly choppy in the afternoon. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Tonight South winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters slightly choppy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms early in the evening.
Saturday South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay waters smooth increasing to slightly choppy in the afternoon. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
